Section 6 Works

When planning to excavate within 3 metres of a neighbour's foundations to a lower depth, or within 6 metres of those foundations to a depth lower than an imaginary line drawn at a 45-degree angle down from the base of the neighbour’s foundations, it is necessary to serve a Section 6 notice. 

This notice requires that you provide one month's notice prior to commencing any excavation work. Additionally, you must include detailed plans and sections illustrating the  proposed works along with the notice.
