Notice/Party Structure Notice

If you intend to make alterations to a Party Wall—such as inserting flashings or a damp proof course, cutting away chimney breasts or projections, raising, rebuilding, repairing, underpinning, exposing the wall to the elements, or enclosing the wall at the line of junction then you are required to serve a Section 2 Notice. 

This legal requirement ensures that neighbouring property owners are informed of any proposed work that may  affect the Party Wall. It is essential to provide two months' notice when issuing a Section 2 Notice, allowing the   involved parties adequate time to consider the implications of the planned alterations.
